As mentioned on the home page, it is difficult these days to find what I regard as the traditional gentleman's outfitters. The high street chains sell trendy clothing, complete with the all-important logo, but I prefer not to provide free advertising for the retailers whose products I purchase. That's why I'm delighted to recommend Pakeman, Catto & Carter in Cirencester. They also have a website which can be found at http://www.pakeman.co.uk/Mens Shoes
Perhaps its just me, but I find something immensely satisfying about wearing good quality shoes. Now I cannot afford to buy all my footwear from this manufacturer, but I currently have 3 pairs of shoes from Loake. These shoes are in the finest traditions of quality English made shoes, for which Northamptonshire was rightly famous.
Why are they so good? Well, I'm not an expert but the quality of the stitching. quality of the leather and overall craftsmanship make a pair of Loakes a joy to own. Leather soles help the foot to 'breathe' and when they wear out I get them repaired at the local cobblers.
Perhaps the only criticisim I might venture is that I find Loakes website http://www.loake.co.uk/ stylish but a little confusing and I actually buy my Loake shoes through http://www.shoeandboot.co.uk/. Their service is indeed polite, fast and efficient as claimed.
